Every time we see a dragonfly we are reminded

When my friend _______ was facing the palliative stage of her cancer journey we wanted to surround her with the joy and blessings she had brought to so many peoples lives so we arranged a girls sleep over with her and 3 close friends and colleagues. We gave each other special gifts: plants for the garden, a necklace, memories, a bright pink shoulder bag embroidered with our name and her favourite signature insect the dragonfly. Now every time we see a dragonfly we are reminded of the gift that was Phyllis’ life and the joy we continue to have in celebrating our time together. Taking the time to be together and to build a special memory through meaningful activities and symbols creates every day rituals that sustain us going forward.
