Death has left an empty space in my heart

How fortunate family are that were given the gift of being with their loved one when they died. I wish I had that chance. Holding them, and being able to say goodbye. 3 tragic phone calls, 3 endings, 3 chances to say goodbye never happened, taken from you. Death has left an empty space in my heart, irreplaceable loved ones taken from our family; all that is left are some tears and their memories.

To support someone who is grieving, it’s really very simple; be there to listen, be present…that is all. No one “gets over” the loss of a loved one; rather, we learn how to carry them with us forever. We are the family left behind.

Always in my heart.
