Your suffering lived on in my body

Your suffering lived on in my body

I use to carry you all in my aching back, my tense shoulder, clenched jaw and…with heaviness I walked – or stood frozen. Your suffering living on in my body.

Now I see that you are not your suffering. That your love and wisdom infuses my life and passion more than your pain. Now with a strong back, soft shoulders and a relaxed jaw I walk in service… not alone but with strength in numbers.

I am witness to suffering – yes. But I am also witness to courage, love and patience in boundless measure. May I continue to honour what you teach remembering in each moment…
